Stupid fireworks Next door neighbors aren't home and their shy, nervous dog is going nuts from all the explosions :-(

As much as I love our freedom....... I hate fireworks. Funny thing, everyone's out of work around here, but they find the money to buy fireworks and alcohol, go figure. The two seem to go hand in hand around here. Not just July, all frickin summer long!

Grr. Grr! It seems extra ghoulish to me when there's an actual war going on with actual explosive devices. You know?

I understand I don't have it in me to celebrate until all are home safely. I find it hard to celebrate my freedom when my young, handsome, newly married nephew is in Afghanistan right now. Fighting for our freedom?

I forgot (or maybe didn't know) you had family there. How's he doing? Is he able to be in touch with the family?

I never mentioned him before I guess I didn't even want to believe that he is there. No ones heard from him for a week and his mom is sick with worry, no doubt. We all are. And lord, what his wife must be feeling? I just want him home and have our family in-tact again. So, so, so many people have ones they love over there, just is hard to imagine how much heartache is here, wondering and praying for their return.

I hate fireworks, and it is extra galling when, #x, my cousin just shipped off to a third tour - so exploding things? Not sounding so fun. And, #x, the noise terrifies my dog.
