yeah, its normal i think most people, when separated, either feel more lovey (which i think is terrifying and stalkerish) or less lovey. it would be a little weird if the quality and type of affection you feel didn't change at all, wouldn't it? anyway, i don't know how long you've been with this girl, but lovey feelings come and go. after years and years with someone, there are times when you'll feel like you want to hold her head underwater. but then lovey will come back and alls good.
